For those of you that didn’t know and have any interest in such things…
We lasted in Brazil for just over a year. When our plane touched down there, the economy tanked and then the politics there got absolutely insane! It was an incredible experience living there and I don’t regret it one bit. Spending that much time with Melissa’s family, experiencing a different culture and especially the kids picking up a second language (they were FLUENT in Portuguese within 3 months!!!) was all great.
Our moving back here to the United States a year ago boils down to this: The United States of America is the best country on the planet! Sure, we have our faults but no other country affords its citizens the opportunities we have here, the quality of life and the benefits! Anyone burning the American flag or "trash talking" our country needs to be shipped off to another country for a year to learn how to appreciate how good we have it!
Anyway, since returning here, I got a job in Marietta in Marketing but that commute only lasted 6 months. Melissa and I started North Georgia Cleaning and Repair, LLC. Melissa cleans the houses and I remodel, fix, repair, and upgrade them!
Kids are growing like weeds and loving life here in Alpharetta. A couple of weeks after I returned here, dad was diagnosed with throat cancer (all is well now – the chemo and radiation worked, thank God) but we (Dad, Melissa and I) that having us live here with dad is a good idea… It keeps him off of ladders and other things he shouldn’t be doing at his age and with his health.
So, I’m about to buy a new kayak (and all of the "stuff" with it) for fishing Lake Lanier, SGI/C’belle, Louisiana and Ft. Lauderdale! It has been TOO LONG!
I’ve been lurking for years but not fishing or hunting or doing much of any interest to the board, I’ve not posted.
Take care and GOD BLESS THE USA!!!
